How did I get on Wattpad?

A Brief comment

Let me tell you something before we start.

You will not like me.

This is a story about rebels, parties, drinking, cheap poetry, girls, violence, purpose, and about life. It’s about fitting in, being a rebel, and showing society a big middle finger.

I guarantee you that you will not like me, because you will get confused with the timeline, you will fill in the gaps with your mind, find out that I am lying, and then understand that I told you the truth.

This is a story about people and people are failures.

But it is also the story of a great liar, telling you the truth.

First of all, I need to tell you something: I changed some names, places, and sequences of this story, more to protect those involved than for a narrative issue. We live in a world of labels, conflicts, and ego fights that keep us from moving forward.

This book is not “an absolute truth about magic”, much less a great treatise on how to use magic, but an honest, simple, and straightforward account of magic in my life, with some elements that I have never told anyone, not even to close friends. Of course, you can take several lessons from here and use them in your life, or not.

And the chapters here are not big, because I want you to have a fast experience and to turn this book easy to read on your cell phone, tablet or laptop or pc. so I decided on chapters with a maximum of 5 thousand characters and simple language.

It is also a big lie.

Okay, this story will show you a lot of crazy facts that took me from the outskirts of São Paulo and reached the corridors of Wattpad, one of the largest companies for storytellers in the world.

This story does not begin with a great writer, nor with a talent unintentionally discovered by an older person who saw in me the full potential for transformation, Finding Forrester style. Away from writing and literature for many years, I preferred the street, the chaos, and the parties.

This story is about an ordinary boy, a person’s evolution process and the discovery of an inactive talent, and the arrival of my books. It is also a story about insanity, friendship, parents and children, forgiveness, heartache, gang fights, and Brazil in the 1990s and 2000s.

This book also has some elements of magic and occultism, which helped to form my character and my person, of course, I changed some of the names and events described here to maintain the security and privacy of these people and to give a more heroic air for the whole thing. Besides, of course, the fact that this work is a summary of my life, not a biography of almost a thousand pages — as it would be if I really described each period up to Wattpad and my training as a professional writer.

Today I am 38 years old, four books have been published, several short stories by several national publishers, and books in English and Spanish. I went through a divorce, a girlfriend’s death, and another courtship, and now I struggle to return to Canada as a writer and screenwriter, maybe even working on Wattpad?

Writing was not always a passion for me, in fact, it was a skill that was gradually introduced into my life and took shape as needed. Today, I can’t imagine life without writing and martial arts or the occult. But to get here I had to suffer, go through near-death experiences, and say goodbye to friends, my parents, and love. I also lost a house, two cars, and some other valuables, but everything that belonged to us returns to us in due time.

After all, I already won Wattys in 2018, and nothing better than having two awards in the collection and, who knows in the future, seeing my name on movie screens or in a series, like a Wattpad writer telling his adventures towards success.
